Decade of Action

May 2011 saw the launch of the ‘Decade of Action for Road Safety’ which addresses 5 Pillars of activities to increase road safety -

	Upgrading the safety of road infrastructure
	Building road safety management capacity
	Developing the safety of vehicles
	Enhancing the behaviour of road users
	Improving emergency services
